YOUR NEIGHBOUR WORKING FOR YOU!

ON OCTOBER 24TH VOTE

ANTHONY CAPUTO FOR CALEDON REGIONAL COUNCILLOR (WARDS 4, 5 & 6)

Who is Anthony Caputo

I am Anthony Caputo, and I am running to be your next Caledon Regional Councillor in Wards 4, 5, & 6.

I’ve been a resident of Caledon for over 32 years, and now raising my 4 children in this wonderful community we call home.

As a local business owner, and past president of the Caledon Chamber of Commerce, I remain committed to growing and uniting our Caledon community, and thus have been involved in and supported the following:

  • Current Board Member of Meaghan's Music Room; an organization that provides music lessons to children with special needs.

  • Proud sponsor of the Bolton Italian Culture Centre; a non-profit community organization that promotes the well-being of seniors in Caledon.

  • Continuous contributor to multiple non-profit organizations, such as the Caledon Senior Centre, Caledon Hockey Teams, Sick Kids Foundation, and the Breast Cancer Foundation.

Once elected as your Regional Councillor, I will work towards ensuring local business owners get the representation they deserve for the prosperous future of Caledon.

MY FOCUS

GOOD GOVERNANCE

SERVICE DELIVERY AND OPERATIONAL REVIEWS

  • I will bring forward a motion calling for reviews of how services are delivered to Caledon residents. This will help to ensure we deliver value-for-money with your taxes. We will also look at existing resourcing and stop the automatic annual growth of staffing levels.

    AFFORDABLE TAXES

  • By operating efficiently and saving taxpayer dollars we can ensure tax rates remain affordable. The solution to our problems isn’t increasing taxes or hiring more staff, but finding creative means to deliver needed services efficiently and effectively by eliminating waste.

TRANSPORTATION AND SAFETY

FIXING HWY 50 BY EXPANDING THE OFF-PEAK DELIVERY PROGRAM

  • I will work with Bolton’s large freight-dependent businesses to ensure off-peak deliveries. By expanding the existing program in the Region of Peel we can reduce daytime traffic congestion and improve road safety.

FULLY IMPLEMENT THE BOLTON TRANSPORTATION MASTER PLAN & THE QUEEN STREET CORRIDOR STUDY REPORT

  • Gridlock costs millions of dollars in losses annually. By fixing our transportation issues we can facilitate faster and more efficient movement of people and goods–boosting our local economy, saving money, and reducing our carbon footprint.

    TRAFFIC AND PERSONAL SAFETY

  • Vehicular incidents have and will continue to be a significant issue in our community. As Caledon grows, so will traffic incidents and other safety concerns. I will work with our local MPP and provincial counterparts to ensure our tax dollars result in more police presence within our local communities.

JOBS, JOBS, JOBS

REVIEW BUSINESS TAX RATES

  • Caledon is and aspires to be much more than a warehousing destination with a few employees per site. By reviewing and adjusting local tax rates we can help grow our existing businesses and give them a hand-up.

MAKE CALEDON A DESTINATION FOR NEW BUSINESSES

  • Creating new jobs close to home should be a priority for both Caledon and Peel. Competitive rates of taxation and a business-friendly environment will make Caledon an attractive investment destination. By investing in the Community Improvement Plan we can nudge new businesses towards investing or reinvesting in our community.
